Is the background remover free?
Yes. Every download up to 1000 px on the longest side is free, with no watermark and no sign-up. Full resolution needs a one-time 24-hour background remover pass (US$2.99), which covers any number of photos for 24 hours.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The AI model runs inside your browser, so the photo never leaves your device. Only the model itself is downloaded, once, and your browser keeps it for next time.
Why is the first photo slower?
The first time, your browser downloads the AI model and engine, about 50 MB (94 MB on computers that run it on the graphics chip). Later photos load them from the browser cache. On a phone, one photo can take up to a minute.
Which photos work best?
People, products and pets with a clear outline work best. Fine hair, glass and objects the same colour as the background can come out rough, so try a photo with more contrast.
